Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has again lambasted the BJP government over the ongoing Kashmir crisis. Qureshi told Pakkistan media that India is preparing to send ‘goons’ from a right-wing Hindu-nationalist group – RSS in Kashmir to carry out massacres of innocent Kashmir Muslims.
The situation in Kashmir is deteriorating day by day with a humanitarian crisis looming, FM Qureshi told reporters in Khanewal.
“We have the reports that [the] Indian ruling party, BJP [Bharatiya Janata Party], is preparing to deploy the RSS [Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh] goons in Kashmir to carry out a massacre of the innocent people there”, the foreign minister said.
It is the responsibility of the international community to stop the Indian government and save the lives of the Kashmiri people, he added. The RSS is a prominent Hindu supremacist organisation which gave birth to the ruling party – BJP.
FM Qureshi praised the Turkish people for holding a massive rally in Istanbul and Ankara to support their Muslim brothers and sisters in Kashmir. “I am thankful to Turkish people and people of other Islamic countries who show solidarity with Kashmiri people and raised voice against the Indian government illegal actions,” Qureshi said.
Pakistan and Kashmiri leaders fear that revocation of Article 370 is an attempt by India to change the demography of the state, where some groups have been fighting Indian rule for either independence or unification with neighbouring Pakistan.
