Four universities from Russia, Brazil, India and China (BRIC Nations) signed an agreement, within which it is planned to implement joint programs for the development of promising areas of education and science.
The signing ceremony took place on Thursday at the Second International Scientific Forum “Step into the Future: Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy” at the State University of Management (GUU).
The agreement was signed by Ivan Lobanov from the GUU (Russia), Carlos Augusto Candeo Fontanini, vice president of the BRICS Business School Association, representing the Catholic University (Pontifical Catholic University), Prof, Ravindranathan from the Xavier Institute of Business Management Studies – XIBMS (India) and Ma Qinggo’s from Ningbo University (PRC).
“We agreed that we will work together in various scientific fields, in a year we will summarize intermediate results. It is important for us to understand how the rules will be arranged in the emerging digital system. New technologies are being created, but there are no rules for their work, we want to model these rules “- said Lobanov.
According to the organizers of the forum, the agreement will stimulate joint programs for the development of various areas in education, science, development of professional educational programs, training and raising their skills, as well as introducing new technologies and scientific developments, organizing international scientific and practical forums conferences.
An equally important area of cooperation will be the development of digital volunteering. Volunteers from partner universities will be addressing the problems of digital inequality, access to information, media education, the distribution of positive content, as well as the search for ways to eradicate destructiveness in social networks.
In parallel with the signing, the opening of the UNESCO Chair “Social, legal and ethical foundations of the knowledge society (information society)” was held with the participation of the Director of the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, Tao Chang and Ivan Lobanov, who became the Head of the UNESCO Chair.
About the forum
The second international scientific forum “Step into the Future: Artificial Intelligence and the Digital Economy” is held at the SUU on December 6 and 7, 2018. It was attended by around fifteen hundred prominent scientists, recognized experts from the international IT community and students from Russia, Brazil, Vietnam, Germany, Greece, India, China, Laos, the Netherlands, the USA, Finland, France, the Republic of South Africa and other countries.
The forum program addresses a wide range of issues and problems related to the digital economy and artificial intelligence, including the social and ethical challenges of the digitalization era.
