Pakistan Army COAS – General Qamar Javed Bajwa a few days back affirmed that Pakistan Army will fully support the Kashmiris in their quest for freedom and said they are willing to go to any extent to fulfil their obligations.
Pakistan Army Will Go To Any Extend To Free Kashmir From India – General Bajwa
However, sane voices have prevailed in Islamabad and Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi clearly stated today that military action over Kashmir is not an option, contradicting General Bajwa. However, Pakistan reserves the right to respond to any Indian aggression, Qureshi told a news conference in Islamabad.
“We’re not looking at the military option,” Qureshi said, adding, “Don’t we reserve a right to respond in case of any aggression?” “We have decided to go back to the UN security council to challenge this Indian position, which is morally incorrect,’ he added.
India on Monday repealed the contentious Article 370 of its constitution which gave unfair privileges to citizens of Jammu and Kashmir, a decision that irked Islamabad. In response, Pakistan downgraded its diplomatic ties with India, suspended bilateral trade, expelled the country’s envoy and even banner Indian content.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs through a statement asked Islamabad to review its decision so that “normal channels for diplomatic communications are preserved”.

“The intention behind these measures is obviously to present an alarming picture to the world of our bilateral ties. The reasons cited by Pakistan are not supported by facts on the ground,” India alleged in the statement issued on Thursday, adding it regrets the decision taken by Pakistan to downgrade ties.
However, Pakistan outrightly rejected New Delhi’s position and said revocation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir was not India’s internal matter. Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Mohammad Faisal said that the final decision on Kashmir needs to be made by the United Nations (UN).
