On October 8, three Russian female inmates at the Gadani Central Jail in Balochistan Province, Pakistan, killed a Pakistani female prison official. They have been charged with premeditated murder according to the media release.
The Russian Consulate General in Karachi is looking into the details of the incident. The Russian women were detained by Pakistani police in the city of Quetta, the administrative centre of the Balochistan Province, in October 2018 for having illegally crossed the Iran-Pakistan border and were waiting for extradition to Russia along with eight underage children.
According to available information, they follow the extremist ideology of the terrorist organization ISIS and tried to pass from Pakistan to Afghanistan to join Wilayat-Khorasan, a branch of ISIS. Russian diplomats are in constant contact with the law-enforcement agencies of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on this matter.
