Harsimrat Kaur Badal leads the Indian cabinet ministers for being the richest cabinet ministers in India with assets of around 2.17 Billion INR. — Harsimrat Kaur Badal is a Shiromani Akali Dal MP from Bathinda in Punjab who are key allies of the ruling BJP. According to National Election Watch (NEW) and Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), out of the 56 ministers, 51 are multi-millionaires.

Next to the Punjab MP is Maharashtra Rajya Sabha Member Piyush Goyal with assets worth over 950 million INR. Rao Inderjit Singh, elected from Gurugram, is the third richest with total declared assets worth 420 million INR followed by BJP president and Gandhinagar MP Amit Shah having assets worth more than 400 million INR. Prime Minister Narendra Modi ranked 46th in the list with declared total assets over 20 million INR.
A total of 10 ministers have fewer assets than Modi, including Arjun Ram Meghwal MP from Bikaner in Rajasthan and Narendra Singh Tomar from Morena in Madhya Pradesh, with both having total declared assets worth about 20 million INR.
Sanjeev Kumar Balyan from Muzaffarnagar in Uttar Pradesh, Kiren Rijiju from Arunachal West in Arunachal Pradesh and Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti from Fatehpur in Uttar Pradesh had declared assets worth about 10 million INR.
The five non-multimillionaires are Debasree Chaudhuri from Raiganj in West Bengal (6.1 million), Rameswar Teli from Dibrugarh in Assam (4.3 million), V. Muraleedharan from Kerala (2.7 million), Kailash Choudhary from Barmer in Rajasthan (2.4 million) and Pratap Chandra Sarangi from Balasore in Odisha (1.3 million).
