Modi Using Chandrayaan -2 Mission To Divert Attention From Economic Slowdown: Mamata Banerjee

The Modi government has come under a round of allegations from the opposition parties given the worrying state of the Indian economy. West Bengal CM, Mamata Banerjee even went on to say that the Chandrayaan 2 mission launched recently is only a bid to digress attention from the sorry state of the Indian Economy.

Mamata Banerjee, who is known to directly indulge in wars of words with the Indian Prime Minister also made it clear that she would never accept the implementation of National Register of Citizens (NRC) in West Bengal.

Taking on the BJP union government during a debate in the state assembly, Mamata Banerjee said that the Chandrayaan 2 mission is not the first such mission but it is being portrayed that no such missions were thought of or executed before the Modi government came to power. This discussion took place while a resolution against NRC was tabled in the state assembly.

Further attacking the ruling BJP Government, Mamata Banerjee further suggested that the government should diligently take cognisance of the economic slowdown in India. She argued that the priority of the government’s function should be to stabilise the economy and address the ongoing hurdles in economic growth rather than pursuing political vendettas.
