“My family members are distant,” he said. “We have to exercise caution in the wake of the outbreak.”
Qureshi has gone in self-isolation following the direction of medical experts but showed no symptoms of the coronavirus yet. Qureshi tested negative for the virus after arriving from Beijing, but experts have warned about the precautionary measures as the infection can resurface.

Commenting on President Arif Alvi’s visit to China, Qureshi said that its aim was to demonstrate solidarity with the Chinese people. “The world is blaming China [for the outbreak],” Qureshi said. “Pakistan had expressed confidence in not repatriating students from China. These students did not face any mishap.”
Meanwhile, the confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan has eclipsed 250 after new cases emerged in Sindh, Islamabad and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa. The pandemic which first surfaced in the city of Wuhan, China has infected over 198,000 people globally with over 7,900 deaths.

The total number of confirmed cases in Sindh stands at 181 while Punjab has 26, K-P reported 17 cases, Islamabad eight, Gilgit-Baltistan three and none in Pakistan-controlled-Kashmir. Balochistan stands at 16 cases. Majority of Pakistan’s coronavirus cases are linked to the pilgrims at Taftan.
