Just moments after India issued a stern warning to China over the ongoing border dispute in Ladakh, Pakistan PM Imran Khan jumped in to defend it’s all-weather ally China.
Khan took to twitter to release a series of tweets attacking the Narendra Modi led government and defending Chinese actions in the region.
The cricketer-turned-politician alleged that the current regime in the country is becoming a “threat” to India’s neighbours. “Bangladesh through Citizenship Act, border disputes with Nepal & China and Pakistan threatened with false flag operation.

Khan also said that the current government is not only a threat to India’s minorities by relegating them to 2nd class citizens’ status but also a threat to regional peace. In the same tweet, he also referred to Indian Administered Kashmir as an illegal annexation and a crime under the Geneva Convention.
Pakistan had been silent on the ongoing dispute between New Delhi and Beijing which has intensified since the incidents in Pangong Lake in Ladakh and Nakula Pass in Sikkim.
The online assault from Imran Khan comes after Ravi Shankar Prasad and General VK Singh (Retd.), union minister under the current government, hit back at China for its increasing aggression. VK Singh even warned Beijing that no one can stare back at Modi’s India.
Tensions have flared up between Chinese and Indian troops in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley. Both sides have deployed thousands of troops on either side of the line of control, leading observers to draw comparisons with the 2017 standoff between India and China in Doklam.
Pakistan’s support for China is no surprise since both countries maintain warm relations. Beijing has invested heavily in developmental projects in Pakistan with the latest being the Diamer Basha Dam in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Earlier, Khan had called Indian assertions of infiltration from Pakistan’s side of the Line of Control (LoC) baseless and said it is a “continuation of a dangerous agenda”. He had also warned the international community of its responsibility to act against the war crimes and genocide being committed in Jammu and Kashmir.
PM Kha had stated the right-wing Indian government, under the cover of the pandemic, has continued its Hindutva supremacist agenda, driven by the fascist RSS ideology.
