Indian Armed Forces Not Strong Enough To Counter China?

The rift between the Chinese and Indian Armed forces has been mounting with more and more contradictory strategies between the two giant nations. According to a Chinese military expert, the Indian Armed Forces are not as strong as they claim to be.

Recently, Abhay Krishna, GO Chief Commanding Officer of the Indian Army, stated that the Indian Armed Forces were exceptionally strong and ‘well prepared’, while also commenting that the Chinese military would not dare to commit any ‘misadventures’.

These comments by the Indian Army sparked further aggravation, leading the Chinese military to question and doubt the strength of the Indian Armed Forces.

The Indian Armed Forces are Strong & Capable

Since the India-China Doklam issue, many comments from both sides of the military have surfaced.

The Chief of Army, Bipin Rawat, stated at a recent press conference that the Chinese Army was pushing the waters at the India-China border, and that the Indian Armed Forces are fully prepared and capable of dealing with any kind of retaliation on the border.

These statements have further aggravated relations between India and China and dealt a blow to bilateral ties, while impacting the peace and security of the border region.

What does China have to say about the Indian Armed Forces?

Hu Zhiyong, a research specialist at the Institute for International Relations in China, states that the Indian Armed Forces are hyping their power and projecting themselves as more powerful than they actually are.

Another researcher says there is a contradiction between the thoughts expressed by Indian Armed Forces personnel and the Government of India’s general attitude.

The Chinese researcher further stated that the Government of India’s response will show India’s efforts to unify the two great nations and the relations between them.

According to an article published in a Chinese editorial, after the Indian Armed Forces trespassed into the Doklam region, India-China Relations have really weakened.

Unless both countries seek ways to efficiently control the issue mutually, relations will continue to be negatively affected.
