Why is Europe perturbed by the General of US Marine Corps announcement? The US Marine Corps is trying to smooth out the statements of its commander, General Robert Neller, that wars are approaching Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. The Marine Corps commandant told the US Marines stationed in Norway that they should be ready for a “big fight”. “I hope I’m wrong, but the war is coming,” said Gen. Neller.
What Exactly Did the General Say to US Marine Corps?
General Neller mentioned that the most probable zone of the conflict will be the Korean peninsula, but even this is highly unlikely. He responded to a request to clarify whether Neller’s recent statements in Norway should be viewed as the official position of the US Marine Corps – the armed conflict between the United States and Russia in Europe is inevitable.
Lt. Col. Eric Dent, a spokesman for the general, told The Washington Post that Neller’s remarks “were meant to inspire and motivate the US Marines.” Lt. Col. Dent explained the idea of war is capable of inspiring soldiers to train harder and enhance combat readiness. I can not even imagine a leader of a professional army who would not tell his soldiers and other defence personnel to be prepared for any possibility”.

Combat readiness can only be achieved through constant preparations for all eventualities and constant motivation. If you want peace – we must always be ready for war. “This is what we want and that’s what we are doing,” added Dent.
“I hope that I am wrong, but the war is coming,” Neller said on December 21, speaking to 300 American marines in the town of Vaernes in central Norway. “You are participating here in the struggle, just by your very presence.” At the same time, according to the US media, he said that the operational readiness of the US Marine Corps will shift in perspective to Europe and the Asia-Pacific region from the Middle East, where the US has involved for a long time.

However, as Lt. Col. Dent assured the Washington Post, while Neller also affirmed that in his opinion, none of the four countries – Russia, China, Iran and North Korea- would be keen to unleash hostilities against the United States.
